CMPD to Outfit 1,400 Officers with Body Cameras

CHARLOTTE, NC — WCCB Charlotte is learning more about the body cameras CMPD plans to purchase.  

According to a CMPD source, each officer will get a pair of glasses, a headband, and a shoulder mount for the Taser Axon Flex camera.  Officers will be able to move the camera around to the different mounts with a magnet.

The Flex cameras sell for $599 on the company’s website.  CMPD plans to outfit more than 1,400 officers with body cameras at a cost of $2 million.
