CHARLOTTE, NC — Neighbors frustrated with noise from low-flying planes are sounding off to the Federal Aviation Administration.  The FAA is working to change how planes fly into Charlotte-Douglas International.

The changes will affect the Steele Creek and Lake Wylie neighborhoods.  Thursday, families attended a public meeting to see what they can expect.

“it’s not just people at the airport,” said Lake Wylie resident Tom Martin.  “I mean there are people, you know, 25 miles out from the airport and the planes are flying really low out there, and we’re trying to figure out why they have to be that low.”

The planes would fly higher and make a steeper descent into the airport.  The FAA says the change will save time and fuel.
