Β The famous mask of King Tut is supposed to be made out of gold inlaid with colored glass and semiprecious stones. Β Nowhere in the description does it mention industrial-grade epoxy. Β And yet, that’s part of it now, added during a bad cover-up that didn’t work.
The story actually begins last year, when someone on the renovation team that was cleaning the mask knocked off the long, thin beard piece. Β Frankly, she freaked. Β Instead of fessing up, she called her husband, also a renovations guy, who came over with some epoxy and did a massive slop-job of gluing it back on. Β Then when other workers tried to clean up the over-spill, they scratched the mask, just making things worse and worse. Β So now, they’re busted.
So what’s your worst cover-up fail?
