GASTON COUNTY, NC– Gaston County police are looking for a woman who tried to use counterfeit money.
Police say they responded to a call that a woman tried to use a counterfeit $20 bill at a store on Dallas Cherryville Highway.
The store clerk reports that the woman handed them a $20 bill at the counter, when she marked the bill it turned up to be counterfeit.
When the clerk told the woman it was counterfeit she reached and pulled out a $10 bill that was legitimate and paid for her items.
The suspect reportedly left the store in a silver Chevrolet Malibu heading towards Cherryville, NC, she is described as a white female wearing a light blue pullover jacket with auburn hair.
