CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Three people were injured in a four car crash just before 1:30 Saturday morning.
Police say that a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria was speeding while going northbound on Brookshire Freeway when the male driver, failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of Brookshire Blvd and I-85.
The front of the Crown Victoria struck the left side of a 2007 Ford Freestar, driven by Antwon Hooker 23, who was turning left onto Brookshire Blvd from the southbound I-85 exit ramp, in the intersection.
The Crown Victoria then rotated around and struck the front end of a 2000 Toyota Camry driven by Bernard Tanner, 39 who was also making a left turn onto Brookshire Blvd.
As a result of this crash, the Camry struck the right side of a 2012 Cadillac driven by Fred Patterson,47.
The unamed male driver of the Crown Victoria was transported to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Hooker and Tanner were also transported to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say that speed and alcohol use are contributing factors to this crash.
