Walter Payton Award Given To Panthers Thomas Davis

PHOENIX, AZ– The Walter Payton Man of the Award was given to Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis in Phoenix Saturday night.

The award was given to Davis at the 4th annual NFL Honors program.

Davis was up for the same award last year, but took home the honors which recognizes a player’s community service and performance on the field.

“There’s so much negativity that’s going on in this league and so much that’s being reported. I just feel like we’re in a position where we can make a difference,” said Davis.

The NFL will make a donation to Davis’ charity of choice, 49ers’ wide receiver Anquan Boldin and Packers Arron Rodgers were also up for the award.
