CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Queen Charlotte predicted six more weeks of winter during a private media event at the Charlotte Nature Museum.
The groundhog saw her shadow meaning winter will stay around a little bit longer. Due to the passing of the former Queen Charlotte, the Charlotte Nature Museum did not host a public event because the new groundhog is still in training.
Therefore, the groundhog saw her shadow inside an enclosed glass area. Officials say they hope she will be ready for a public weather prediction in 2016.
