No parade, just yet, for the Patriots…No. 1 Kentucky is back in action…Hawks’ 19-game winning streak ends

BOSTON (AP) β€” There won’t be a parade today in Boston to celebrate the Patriots win over the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. Once again the city was hit with more snow on Monday and the mayor has postponed the event until tomorrow. According to the National Weather Service, Boston saw a record 34.2 inches of snow over seven days.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) β€” Kentucky, the top team in the men’s AP poll, is back in action this evening. The Wildcats, who are 21-0, are playing host to Georgia’s Bulldogs. Kentucky received all 65 first place votes in the most recent AP poll, which was released yesterday.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) β€” The Atlanta Hawks’ 19-game winning streak is over. Playing in New Orleans last night, the Hawks were shot down by the Pelicans 115-100. After taking a few days off to rehab an injury, Anthony Davis returned for the Pelicans and had 29 points and 13 rebounds.

CLEVELAND (AP) β€” The longest winning streak in the NBA is now held by Cleveland. The Cavaliers racked up their 11th straight victory last night with a home court, 97-84, win over Philadelphia. Kyrie (ky-REE’) Irving led the attack with 24 points.

PHOENIX (AP) β€” Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Sapp has been fired by the NFL Network after it was learned that he had been arrested on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute and allegedly assaulting two women. The arrest took place in Arizona where Sapp was working for the network on its Super Bowl coverage. Authorities said Sapp faces a maximum penalty of $2,500 in fines, six months in jail, three years’ probation and a mandatory 15 days in jail if convicted on the prostitution charge.
