Teen’s Shooter Arrested – Updated

***UPDATE 2/6/15: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have arrested a 14 year old boy for this shooting. The teen is charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. He’s being held in a juvenile detention facility.

CHARLOTTE, NC — The mother of a 14-year-old shot while skateboarding in Grier Heights tells WCCB Charlotte her son has a long recovery ahead.  D’Andre Martin is listed in good condition at the hospital.

Police are still looking for the person who shot him in the stomach on Sam Drenan Road Tuesday.  It happened just 20 feet from his home.

“I ran out my door to see my son laying on the ground with his eyes rolling in the back of the head like he’s about to die,” said D’Andre’s mother Courtney Monroe.  “Someone almost killed my son, and my son didn’t deserve it.”
