FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The University of Arkansas has signed football coach Bret Bielema (BEE’-lah-mah) to a two-year contract extension and a raise, theoretically keeping the coach at the school through the 2020 season. Bielema led to the Razorbacks to a 7-6 season and their first bowl game in three seasons last year. The former Wisconsin coach was 3-9 in his first year in Arkansas in 2013, inheriting the fallout from the Bobby Petrino scandal and one season under interim coach John L. Smith.
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger is the leader through three rounds of the Malaysian Open, three shots ahead of Lee Westwood, Paul Waring and Alejandro Canizares. Wiesberger surged in front with a 9-under 63 that leaves him 17-under for the tournament. American Paul Peterson is six shots back.

The Warriors own the best record in the NBA’s Western Conference at 39-9 heading into their game in New York against the Knicks. The Knicks are tied with Minnesota for the NBA’s worst record at 10-40, but they’ve won five of their last nine games.

The Lightning lead the East and the Northeast Division by two points over Detroit and are three points behind than the Metropolitan Division-leading Pittsburgh Penguins. The Red Wings take on the Coyotes in Arizona before the Pens drop the puck in Vancouver.
