Gantt Center Receives $100,000 Grant

CHARLOTTE, NC: The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture is getting a big boost from the Duke Energy Foundation for exceeding their membership goal.Β
The Center recieves $100,000 because it surpassed its goal of 1,974 members. The challenge was called the “1974 Challenge”, a callback to the Center’s founding.Β
Gantt Center President and CEO David Taylor and President of Duke Energy Stick Williams sat down with Rising’s Kristine Zell to talk about the grant and the newest exhibit, “Venturing Out of the Heart of Darkness”.Β
