Blossom, coming of a career-high tying 26-point performance, was 8 of 18 from the field. Rasean Simpson, a junior, had his first-career double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for Morgan State.
STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored 23 points and Breanna Stewart added 22 to help No. 2 UConn beat top-ranked South Carolina 87-62 last night. Moriah Jefferson had 16 points for the Huskies, who improved to 17-3 in matchups between the top two teams in the poll.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Jasmine Joyner scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season to lead Chattanooga past Wofford 68-41 yesterday. Joyner was 6 of 9 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free throw line in 27 minutes. She added four assists and four blocks.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Wofford College will continue as the summer home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. The team and the school announced a five-year extension yesterday that will keep Panthers at Wofford through 2019. Carolina has trained at Wofford ever since it entered the NFL 20 years ago.
