Edge on Demand: Facebooking From Beyond the Grave

Facebook announced a new plan for what to do with your page after you die.  It actually gives you several options.  You could have Facebook “freeze” your page, which they call “memorialization”.  Or you could have your profile wiped so it disappears forever.  Or option three: your “legacy contact”.  That’s a person you authorize within your settings to control your page after death.  They can’t change things from before you shuffled off the mortal coil, but they could post status updates, and accept friend requests.

It might sound a little silly at first, but as more and more of our lives go digital, what to do after death is a real legal problem.  Like all your online music or movies or books; it’s still not clear if you can will them to somebody else.  But as of today, you can hand over control of Facebook.  So we want to know: what do you want to happen to your page when you die?
