Facebook announced a new plan for what to do with your page after you die. Β It actually gives you several options. Β You could have Facebook “freeze” your page, which they call “memorialization”. Β Or you could have your profile wiped so it disappears forever. Β Or option three: your “legacy contact”. Β That’s a person you authorize within your settings to control your page after death. Β They can’t change things from before you shuffled off the mortal coil, but they could post status updates, and accept friend requests.

It might sound a little silly at first, but as more and more of our lives go digital, what to do after death is a real legal problem. Β Like all your online music or movies or books; it’s still not clear if you can will them to somebody else. Β But as of today, you can hand over control of Facebook. Β So we want to know: what do you want to happen to your page when you die?
