FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Shevon Thompson and Jalen Jenkins each scored 15 points, Marquise Moore scored eight of his 11 in overtime, and George Mason hung on to beat Richmond 71-67 in OT on Saturday.
With George Mason trailing 67-66 with 2:16 to play in the extra period, Moore drilled a go-ahead jumper then hit 2 of 4 at the free throw line to push the Patriots to a three point lead with 13 seconds to play and effectively end the game.
Patrick Holloway added 13 points and Isaiah Jackson finished with 11 for the Patriots (8-16, 3-9 Atlantic 10), which won their first OT game in three chances this season.
T.J. Cline scored 18 points to lead Richmond (13-12, 6-6), which is 1-9 on the road this season.
Kendall Anthony added 10 points for the Spiders, and sent the game to overtime with a pair of free throws with one second left.
