Β CHARLOTTE, NC — For anyone putting down rock salt on the driveway, there is a “nicer de-icer” on the market that’s actually good for your lawn when it thaws.
“Urea is a product… in essence it’s the nitrogen in fertilizer. Β The advantage of this is it doesn’t hurt your concrete near as easily,” said Gray Little of Little Hardware. Β “And plus, all your wash off is nitrogen, so you’ll end up with a nice green grass in the Spring.”
The people at Little Hardware also tell us most people use too much rock salt.
