CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Al Jefferson is confident he has another strong finish left in him that’ll help propel the Hornets back into the postseason. Jefferson averaged 24.4 points and 11.6 rebounds after the All-Star break last season, helping Charlotte go 16-9 and earn the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Charlotte needs another spark from Jefferson in the upcoming weeks.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Saah Nimley sank a career-high eight 3-pointers and finished with 34 points on 9-for-18 shooting to lead Charleston Southern to a 75-49 win over Presbyterian last night. Nimley also hit 8 of 10 from the line and Arlon Harper contributed 11 points as Charleston Southern won its fourth straight to remain tied atop the conference standings.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Canyon Barry had 22 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead College of Charleston to a 77-63 win over Elon yesterday. Joe Chealey had 16 points and nine boards and Adjehi Baru and Anthony Stitt chipped in eight apiece for the Cougars.

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Keon Moore scored 27, and Tevin Prescott added 11 points and 10 rebounds to help Winthrop trounce UNC Asheville 91-70 last night. Moore made 8 of 14 field goals and 6 of 6 free throws for Winthrop.
