Teen Shot During Robbery Attempt

CHARLOTTE, NC — A teenager, shot in the foot during a robbery attempt in east Charlotte.  CMPD is trying to track down the shooter.

The 17-year-old and another teen were walking home from the Albemarle Road recreation center Thursday afternoon.  They say a man approached them on Sycamore Grove Road and fired a warning shot that ricocheted off the ground and hit the teen in the foot.

“It bothers me because I thought this was a safe neighborhood, you know, nothing has happened in over 10 years.  Nothing like that,” said east Charlotte resident Andres Barrearas.
