DALLAS (AP) — Monta Ellis scored 15 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and Amare Stoudemire had 14 points in 11 minutes in his Dallas debut in the Mavericks’ 92-81 victory over the Charlotte Hornets last night. Stoudemire made his first appearance in an NBA game since Feb. 11.
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Stephanie Mavunga scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and North Carolina held on to beat Miami 66-65 yesterday. North Carolina remains in sixth place in the conference, while Miami drops into a tie with Pittsburgh for seventh.
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Miah Spencer scored 23 points and North Carolina State upset Duke 72-59 yesterday. Dominique Wilson added 18 points and hit four of the Wolfpack’s 12 3-pointers, and Jennifer Mathurin finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — R.J. White had 14 of his 18 points in the first half, and UNC-Greensboro dominated Furman throughout for an 84-49 victory yesterday. White made all four his 3-point attempts in the first half and the Spartans were 9 of 13 from long range to lead 41-25 at the break. Greensboro closed the first half on a 27-11 run.
