6 and 10-Year-Old Attacked by Rottweilers

NEWTON, NC — A 6 and 10-year-old, attacked by a pair of rottweilers, are recovering. Β The 6-year-old is still in the hospital with severe injuries.

The rottweilers are in quarantine at the Catawba County Animal Shelter. Β They belong to the boyfriend of the boys’ mother. Β Christopher Amell told police he let the dogs out of their kennels for cleaning, while the children were playing in the yard of his Newton home.

There’s no word if charges will be filed.
