Winter Weather Slows CIAA Tournament Business

CHARLOTTE, NC — The CIAA Tournament is underway in Uptown, and the wintry weather isn’t making it easy on area businesses hoping to cash in.

Some street vendors tell us they’ve already cut their food inventory in half.  Hotels say they’ve seen some cancellations as well.  But basketball fans in town for the tournament aren’t changing their plans.

“I know some people who are on their way, and I don’t think anything can stop this here,” said Trevor Jackson of Goldsboro.

“Snow, ice, rain, it will not matter,” added Mickey Burnim of Bowie, Maryland.  “People are here to have a good time.”

The tournament wraps up Saturday night.
