CMS Schools on 2-Hour Delay Friday, Feburary 27th

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Friday, Feb. 27. Buses will run routes and schools will open two hours later than the normal time. Employees will report at their normal times if they are able to travel safely. CMS staff made the decision because of severe weather in the Charlotte area. Reports indicate that temperatures will be extremely low during the morning hours.Β

Opening schools on a delayed schedule will allow transportation and maintenance staff time to prepare buses and facilities before the school day starts.

All before-school and after-school enrichment programs (ASEP) will begin at their normal times. All after-school activities will operate on a normal schedule. Local field trips planned during the school day in Mecklenburg County are cancelled due to the two-hour delay. Schools will dismiss at their normal times.Β
