CHARLOTTE, NC — The shelves were nearly empty at Food Lion on Park Road Wednesday night.  People spent the day snagging the snowstorm standards: milk, bread, cereal and beer.

But some say they were shocked at how fast things sold out.  “I ain’t never seen this many people in this store,” said Dilworth resident Tonia Littlejohn.  “There’s no buggies.  People was everywhere.”

A trip to Black Hawk Hardware also found shelves nearly empty from people stocking up for the storm.
