Shoppers Clean Out Shelves Ahead of Winter Storm

CHARLOTTE, NC — The shelves were nearly empty at Food Lion on Park Road Wednesday night. Β People spent the day snagging the snowstorm standards: milk, bread, cereal and beer.
But some say they were shocked at how fast things sold out. Β “I ain’t never seen this many people in this store,” said Dilworth resident Tonia Littlejohn. Β “There’s no buggies. Β People was everywhere.”
A trip to Black Hawk Hardware also found shelves nearly empty from people stocking up for the storm.
