CHARLOTTE, NC — The doors will stay closed for Entrepreneur High School. Β The State Board of Education voted to revoke the Charlotte school’s charter Thursday.
The decision comes seven weeks after Entrepreneur High closed due to dropping enrollment. Β The school had just $14 in the bank. Β The principal tells WCCB Charlotte he had a plan to re-open the school. The state disagreed.
“I have the clear intention to get not only something going now to finish out the semester, to give the students the opportunity to finish their classes and the teachers to get paid,” said Principal Hans Plotseneder.
Plotseneder says he has taken legal action to try to keep the school open, with a court date set for April 7.
