Panthers Sign Four Players, List Players Who Could Become Unrestricted Free Agents

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers signed running back Fozzy Whittaker, receiver Brenton Bersin, offensive lineman Brian Folkerts and linebacker Ben Jacobs.  

Whittaker signed a two-year contract while Bersin, Folkerts and Jacobs signed one-year deals.

Whittaker had 145 yards on 32 attempts and one touchdown in 2014.  Bersin had 151 yards on 13 receptions and one touchdown in 2014.  Folkerts played in all 16 of the Panthers games in 2014.  Jacobs had nine total tackles during the 2014 season.

The following Panthers players could become unrestricted free agents on Tuesday: defensive end Greg Hardy, tight end Ed Dickson, offensive tackle Byron Bell, defensive tackle Dwan Edwards, linebacker Chase Blackburn, center Kevin Matthews, quarterback Joe Webb, guard Fernado Velasco and offensive tackle Garry Williams.
