Nine Carolina Panthers Become Free Agents

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers let contracts expire with nine players as free agency opens in the NFL.

The Panthers resigned defensive tackles Colin Cole and Dwan Edwards, quarterback Joe Webb and guard Chris Scott.  

The following players are now unrestricted free agents:

Defensive End Greg Hardy

Tight End Ed Dickson

Linebacker Chase Blackburn

Cornerback James Dockery

Center Kevin Matthews

Guard Fernando Velasco

Offensive Tackle Garry Williams

Offensive Tackle Byron Bell

Offensive Tackle Kevin Hughes
