CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers let contracts expire with nine players as free agency opens in the NFL.
The Panthers resigned defensive tackles Colin Cole and Dwan Edwards, quarterback Joe Webb and guard Chris Scott.
The following players are now unrestricted free agents:

Cornerback James Dockery
Center Kevin Matthews

Offensive Tackle Byron Bell
