VIERA, Fla. (AP) β€” Jordan Zimmermann struck out four while pitching into the third inning and Ryan Zimmerman doubled twice as the Washington Nationals beat the Detroit Tigers 9-2 Wednesday.

Detroit’s David Price wasn’t sharp in his second spring start. The left-hander was scheduled to go three innings but only lasted two after throwing 54 pitches. He yielded four runs on four hits β€” all for extra bases β€” while striking out two.

Zimmermann said he had much better command of his fastball in his second spring outing. He allowed a run on two hits in 2 2-3 innings.

Zimmerman had two RBIs, Matt Skole hit a two-run home run and Drew Vettleson added a solo shot for Washington. Wilmer Difo had a double and a triple and scored twice.
