CHARLOTTE, NC — A group of suspected serial burglars under arrest Wednesday night after striking more than 20 Charlotte-area businesses over the past year. Β Kwasi Brown, Javis Dozier and Tyrone Smith are charged with multiple counts of felony breaking and entering and larceny.

Police say the men would walk into common areas of apartment buildings, schools and hotels, then take computers and other electronics. Β Investigators say they weren’t in a hurry, and would act like they were carrying out things that belonged to them.

“There were people they were selling these things to quickly,” said CMPD Lieutenant Brian Sanders. Β “They had people lined up to buy products from them. Β In fact, probably taking orders.”

CMPD says its Crime Analysis Unit helped link the similar crimes together. Β Police have not been able to recover any of the stolen items.
