
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a man wearing an electronic monitoring device stole a vehicle from a home in southeast Charlotte.
Investigators say a woman called police claiming someone stole her car from her driveway on Bay Street in Charlotte.
During the investigation, police realized John Binns was at the victim’s residence the same time the vehicle was stolen. Β They were able to determine this by tracking data from his electronic monitoring device.
Binns was arrested and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Β
Police say Binns has been arrested over 27 times in Mecklenburg, Rowan, Burke and Swain Counties. Β
