
LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Two people were arrested on drug charges after police responded to a suspicious vehicle call in Lincolnton.
Investigators were called out to West Express on West NC Highway 27 after someone reported a suspicious vehicle was parked outside the entrance doors.
The occupants of the vehicle were allegedly passed out and police say it took several minutes for medical personnel to get a response from the individuals.
Police say Whitney Sain and Travis Bivens got out of the car and were searched. Officers claim Bivens had a handgun, which was reported stolen, brass knuckles and two pocket knives in his pants. Officers searched the car and allegedly located five bundles of cash, pills and drug paraphernalia.
Once Bivens was taken to jail, police say they located a small packet of meth hidden in the watch pocket of his jeans.
Bivens has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a controlled substance on premises of penal institution, carrying a concealed weapon, drug paraphernalia and other drug charges.
Sain is facing several possession of controlled substance charges and drug paraphernalia charges.
