UPDATE: Chesterfield Murder Suspect Arrested

UPDATE — The manhunt is over for a man wanted for the murder of his cousin in Chesterfield county.

The Sheriff says 32-year-old Demonta Gillespie turned himself in late Monday.  Gillespie is accused of shooting 28-year-old Brandon Ellerbe Sunday night at a home on Fordville Road in Cheraw.  

According to reports, the two were arguing before the shooting.

CHESTERFIELD, S.C. — Police are searching for a murder suspect in Chesterfield.  Investigators say Demonta Gillespie shot and killed 28-year-old Brandon Ellerbe at a home on Fordville Road.  

Police believe the two men were acquaintances and the shooting stemmed from an argument.  Gillespie is described as a 32-year-old black male, 5’6″ tall, 135lbs and was last seen driving a white 2012 Chevy Impala with SC tag JWS833.  

Anyone with information in his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
