Amendment Could End ‘Naked Man’ Scandal

CHARLOTTE, NC — An amendment to North Carolina’s indecent exposure law could help a north Charlotte neighborhood deal with a man accused of standing naked in his doorway.
Senator Brent Jackson filed a bill Thursday that would make it illegal for a person to expose themselves in a private place to anyone who doesn’t give consent.
The Cardinal Glen Homeowner’s Association has been complaining about Gerard Leeper for weeks. Police previously said there was nothing they could do, because Leeper was in his own home.
