CHARLOTTE, NC — A school nurse supervisor accused in a murder-for-hire plot pleaded not guilty in federal court.
WCCB Charlotte was there as Fathia Davis rushed out of the federal courthouse in Uptown Friday. Β Police say Fathia Davis told an undercover detective she would pay $4,000 for someone to shoot her ex-husband in the head. Β She’s accused of giving the detective her ex-husband’s address, a picture of him and a $300 deposit.
Davis’ attorney, John Snyder spoke only to WCCB Charlotte about his client’s state of mind.
“Anyone involved in the criminal justice system, whether it’s a custody case or criminal case, there’s always an emotional toll of being involved in the system,” said Snyder.
Davis’ trial isn’t expected to begin until this summer at the earliest. Β Davis is a nurse with the Mecklenburg County Health Department’s school health program. Β She is suspended without pay.
