CHARLOTTE, N.C.– The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have indentified the victim of a shooting in Northwest Charlotte Friday night. Officials say 28-year-old Samil Bates died as a result of a gun shot wound.
CMPD officials say that they were called to the 3700 block of Pauline Lane around 9:30 Friday night. Upon arrival, they found Bates lying in the driveway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
While officers were on scene, they learned that two others were injured during the incident. Both of the them were transported by a friend to Carolinas Medical Center, one with a non-life threatening gunshot wound and the second with a leg injury.
Police say that an argument occurred in the home which led to the shooting. All involved in the incident know one another and this was not a random act of violence.
