LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) β€” IOC President Thomas Bach will receive a total of 225,000 euros ($242,000) a year in compensation to cover the costs related to his job of leading the Olympic body.

The figure was disclosed Thursday as the International Olympic Committee released its “indemnity policy” covering the allowances and per diems for Bach and other members.

IOC presidents and members do not receive a salary, but their travel and housing costs and other expenses on Olympic duty are covered.

The IOC says it released the figures in a display of increased transparency. The IOC ethics commission urged all Olympic stakeholders to follow suit.

IOC executive board members and commission chairs will receive $900 daily on Olympic business. Regular IOC members will receive $450 a day.
