Suspect Charged In Airport Larcenies

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Airport Division have charged Jawarski Demarian Williams-Bell, 20, for his involvement in three felony larceny cases at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

On March 14, at about 7am, CMPD Airport Division Officers responded to a larceny call for service in an employee parking lot at the airport on Old Dowd Road.Β  The victim said his vehicle had been damaged and the rims as well as additional vehicle parts had been removed.

On March 28, CMPD Airport Division Officers responded to the same employee parking lot on Old Dowd Road for another larceny from auto call for service.Β  The victim stated that she had parked her vehicle several days earlier and upon her return found that two tires and wheels were missing from her vehicle.Β  It appeared that the vehicle had been jacked up, had the wheels removed and then lowered the vehicle and left it propped on a rock.

On March 31, CMPD Airport Division Officers responded to another larceny from a vehicle call at the same employee parking lot and again, two tires and wheels had been removed from the victim’s vehicle.

Information and evidence gathered by detectives with the CMPD Airport Division led them to identifying Mr. Williams-Bell as the suspect in these cases.Β  Mr. Williams-Bell worked for a cleaning service that contracts with the airlines.Β  He has been arrested and charged with three counts of Felony Larceny and Damage to Property. All of the stolen property has been recovered.
