She got the job as an NFL ref! That’s right, we said she. For the first time in its history, the NFL will have a woman overseeing games.
According to the Baltimore Sun, Sarah Thomas will start officiating in 2015. Thomas started working for Conference USA in 2007 and became the first woman to officiate a bowl game in 2009. She then joined the NFL’s officiating development program, worked some New Orleans Saints’ training camps, and also officiated an NFL preseason game last August.
