MOORESVILLE, N.C.– A 4-year-old boy has died after he drowned in a pool at a home in the 100 block of Irish road in Mooresville Saturday afternoon.
Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell stated that deputies responded to a call of a possible accidental drowning around 2:15p.m. after a caller said that a child had been found in a swimming pool.
When deputies arrived on scene, the boy had been transported to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
At this time, officials say that it appears that the drowning was an accident.
This investigation is still ongoing.
No names are being released at this time.
