CHARLOTTE, NC — It looks like Charlotte’s budget battle will not take the focus off City Council’s five priorities for 2016.
Council members talked about those priorities Monday night. They include housing and neighborhood development, economic development, community safety, transportation and the environment.
Council members questioned whether it’s still a good idea to develop an amateur sports complex in east Charlotte. They also want to keep the 2030 transportation plan moving forward, though there’s not money to build new rail lines.
Charlotte is dealing with a $14 million budget gap for next year.
