Police Arrest Suspect In Deadly North Charlotte Stabbing

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD has arrested a suspect in a deadly stabbing at a motel in north Charlotte.
Gregory Richardson is charged with the murder of Jovonte Martell-Moss Franks. Β Richardson is the man seen in surveillance photos at a convenience store near the murder scene.
The stabbing happened just after midnight at the Brookwood Inn on West Sugar Creek Road. Β Police say Richardson and Franks were arguing at the time, but have not said what it was about.
