CHARLOTTE, NC — It could be a little easier to get to Charlotte Motor Speedway thanks to a finished construction project.
More than $100,000 people are expected to pack the Speedway for the Auto Fair this weekend. Β NC DOTΒ crews were able to finish The Morehead Road Bridge Project early, giving drivers another option besides I-85.
“It was a huge difference,” said Charleston resident Benny Pennett. Β “Traffic was backed up probably a couple miles last year, and this year we drove right in.”
Officials suggest Auto Fair visitors use the Concord Parkway or Highway 49 instead of I-85 and Bruton Smith Boulevard.
