CHARLOTTE, NC — It could be a little easier to get to Charlotte Motor Speedway thanks to a finished construction project.

More than $100,000 people are expected to pack the Speedway for the Auto Fair this weekend.  NC DOT crews were able to finish The Morehead Road Bridge Project early, giving drivers another option besides I-85.

“It was a huge difference,” said Charleston resident Benny Pennett.  “Traffic was backed up probably a couple miles last year, and this year we drove right in.”

Officials suggest Auto Fair visitors use the Concord Parkway or Highway 49 instead of I-85 and Bruton Smith Boulevard.
