Prominent Rock Hill Attorney Killed By Son

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — A prominent attorney in Rock Hill was allegedly killed by his son over the weekend in Spartanburg, S.C.

Investigators say they were called to a home on Eastway Drive in reference to a shooting.  When they arrived on the scene, police say 23-year-old Osiris Hinton claimed to have shot his father.

Detectives say 47-year-old Oshun Cyrus Hinton was found dead inside the home.  Police say he was shot in the back of the head.  

Osiris Hinton has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.  He is being held without bond in the Spartanburg County Jail.  Police have not released a motive at this time.

The elder Hinton was the attorney for the man accused of killing Chester Councilman Odell Williams.
