Autopsy Results Released in Deadly Officer-Involved Shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC — The autopsy and toxicology results are in for the 20-year-old north Charlotte woman shot and killed by a CMPD officer in February.

The autopsy shows Janisha Fonville was shot twice: once in the neck, and another time in the finger. Β The toxicology report shows Fonville had no drugs in her system at the time of her death.

Officer Anthony Holzhauer shot and killed Fonville after he says she lunged at him with a knife. Β He was not charged in the shooting.
