Belmont Police Chief Suspended, Accused of Misconduct

 BELMONT, NC — The Belmont Police Chief has been suspended and accused of mismanagement and misconduct at the city’s Police Department.

Chief Charlie Franklin was placed on a five-day suspension last Friday to allow him to review parts of the city’s report against him.  

City Manager Barry Webb says he will meet with Franklin on Friday to discuss what’s next.
