
UPDATE: Police have arrested Derrick Brown. He was booked early this morning, and we will have updates as they come in.
SALISBURY, N.C. — Police say a Salisbury man stole a car that had a three-year-old in the backseat. Β Investigators are searching for 20-year-old Derrick Brown. Β
A man claimed he parked his Ford Escape at the Pop Shop on West Innes Street Wednesday and left his child in the back seat while he ran inside the store.
Police say Brown got in the vehicle and drove off. Β Police located the vehicle approximately 20 minutes later on Tabernacle Street. Β Officers say the child was unharmed.
Detectives say Brown stole another vehicle earlier in the day.
Police have warrants for Brown’s arrest for two counts of larceny of motor vehicle and one count of first degree kidnapping.
