HUNTERSVILLE, NC — CMS Superintendent Ann Clark is taking her billion dollar budget proposal to the people. Β Clark hosted the first of three community meetings at Hopewell High in Huntersville Thursday night.

She discussed the budget with employees, parents and concerned citizens–especially the need to give employees a raise.

“I’m excited to hear that they are working on the salaries for teachers, because I think they are generally underpaid. Β And we’ve got to correct that,” said Cornelius resident Jim McLean.

The next community meeting is scheduled for April 27 at Vance High School. Β The school board votes on the budget in May, then sends it to County Commissioners.
