CHESTERFIELD CO., N.C.– A woman from Concord died in a crash in Chesterfield County just before 8:30 Saturday night.
Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say that Alberta Rorie Thunderburk, 66, was driving south on Highway 52 near Four Loop Road when Bryan Jay McManus, 39, who was driving north in the wrong lane struck Thunderburk’s car.
Officials say that McManus was injured and flown by helicopter to McLeod Health Hospital in Florence, South Carolina and Thunderberk was pronounced deceased at the scsne.
Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The accident is still under investigation.
