BOSTON (AP) β The Boston Marathon is underway. It was two years ago that two bombs were detonated during the annual race through the streets of the city. Being that it’s Patriots Day, the Red Sox have a late-morning game with the Baltimore’s Orioles providing the opposition.
UNDATED (AP) β The NBA schedule features two games this evening with the home team looking to take a 2-0 lead in its series. In Chicago, the Bulls are squaring off with Milwaukee’s Bucks after winning the first game 103-91, while the Warriors are home to the Pelicans after taking the opening game 106-99.
UNDATED (AP) β Three games comprise this evening’s Stanley Cup playoff schedule. In Pittsburgh, the Penguins and Rangers are meeting in their third game with the best of seven series tied at 1-1, while in Minneapolis, the Wild are home to the Blues with that series tied at 1-1 as well. The final game has Anaheim playing at Winnipeg with the visiting Ducks leading 2-0.
PHILADELPHIA β It’s been reported that former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow (TEE’-boh) will sign a one-year contract with the Eagles today. Three people familiar with the deal spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Sunday because the contract hadn’t been finalized. Tebow hasn’t played in the NFL since 2012. That was with the New York Jets.
ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) β Three-time British Open champion Nick Faldo (FAL’-doh) has joined Tom Watson is saying this year’s British Open will be his last. Faldo, who will turn 58 during the tournament in July, will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of his second British Open title at the Old Course in 1990. Watson will walk off the course a five-time winner of the world’s oldest major championship.
