CMPD to Begin Wearing Body Cameras

CHARLOTTE, NC — Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police divisions will begin using body cameras next week. Β
Officers in the Metro Division will train with the new cameras on Tuesday, then start wearing them on Wednesday.
The Providence Division will start using their body cameras Friday. Β The Department ordered 1,400 cameras last month. Β They will cost the city more than $7 million over the next five years.
