Charlotte, NC (WCCB) βΒ An International Champions Cup match is coming to Bank of America Stadium on July 25.Β Two prominent European teams, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea will square off.
Last year, Liverpool defeated A.C. Milan, 2-0, infront of a sold-out crowd of nearly 70,000 fans. Mayor Pro-Tem Michael Barnes said around $16.5 million was generated from that game.
“I hope that we will have the energy and additional economic activity that we need and want in our city to continue to attract professional soccer to our city and the activity that comes with it.”
July will be a busy month for soccer at Bank of America Stadium. The stadium will host a CONCACAF Gold Cup doubleheader on July 15.
